DESCRIPTION:At its AGM on 4th June the Group appointed Voluntary Health Scotland as its new Secretariat. DESCRIPTION:Informing the Future: Developing Habilitation and Rehabilitation Services for Children and Adults with Sight Loss\nTuesday\, 15th September 2015\,  9.30 am to 4 pm\nTouchbase Business Centre\, Sense Scotland\n43 Middlesex Street\, Kinning Park\, Glasgow  G41 1EE \nThis conference will highlight the importance of promoting confidence and independent living skills for people affected by sight loss across the age spectrum through habilitation (children and young people) and rehabilitation (adult) services. \nIt will focus on identifying emerging issues and showcasing examples of good practice as well as informing SCOVI’s future strategy as the umbrella agency for the visual impairment sector in Scotland. \nThe event will be of special interest to practitioners and managers in rehabilitation and habilitation services\, funders and policy makers and third sector organisations that promote services\, opportunities and rights of adults and children affected by sight loss. \nSpeakers will include Catriona Macintyre-Beon\, Visual Impairment Clinical Specialist\, Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS\, Simon Labbett\, Chair of the UK Rehabilitation Workers’ Professional Network and Lisa Petrie of Blind Children UK Scotland. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to gain new information\, ideas and insights\, network with colleagues and inform SCOVI’s future strategy\, including the promotion of habilitation and rehabilitation for those affected by sight loss. \n£30 for SCOVI members\, £40 for non-members\, including refreshments\, lunch and conference pack. \nFor further information and to book your place\, follow this link.  Please book by 9th September. \nA printed version of the booking form is available to download as a Word 97 Document Booking Form. \nIf you require the survey in another format\, contact Colin Howie on  01324 627082\, colin.howie@scovi.org.uk
