During 2017 and 2018 the Scottish Government is working on Developing A Culture Strategy for Scotland.  As Secretariat to the CPG, VHS organised this particular CPG meeting as its contribution to the government’s  initial engagement phase. Topics examined included the positive impact of arts and culture on people’s health, the exclusion from the arts that people with the worst health inequalities may experience,  the development of a national culture strategy, and rights based approaches to culture.

We also published a briefing based on the presentations given at the meeting: Briefing on Culture, Strategy and Health

VHS’s annual conference on Tuesday 20th November 2018 takes as its theme culture, arts and health. Programme information will be published from May 2018 onwards: Annual Conference 2018
